The air quality alert program

The air quality alert program is designed to help people understand current and forecasted air quality and take appropriate actions to protect their health during high pollution events including wildfire smoke episodes.

Air quality alerts are issued jointly by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, and Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Ontario’s air quality alert email notification system

Ontario’s air quality alert email notification system is a provincial subscription service that provides subscribers with direct email notifications when air quality alerts are issued for specific forecast regions across the province. These notifications are provided year-round with the majority of alerts being issued between May and September.
